Insights European Commission opens feedback period on proposed Data Act text

The Commission says that the Data Act aims to facilitate access to and use of data, including business-to-business and business-to-government data, and to review the rules on the legal protection of databases.

It seeks the right balance between rights to access data and incentives to invest in data, without changing the current data protection rules.

The text of the Act has now been adopted by the Commission. The Commission has opened it up for feedback for eight weeks until 13 May 2022 (midnight Brussels time). To access the adopted text and for information on how to give feedback, click here.
