Incopro, the online rights protection business backed by Wiggin LLP, announces appointment of Helen Saunders
Incopro was launched in March 2012 by Simon Baggs of Wiggin LLP and Bret Boivin, formerly of Warner Bros. and NBC Universal.
Incopro provides services to rights owners across the film, TV, publishing, sport, music, gambling, fashion and luxury goods industries. Incopro’s web interface provides subscribers with a comprehensive analysis of the landscape of online IP infringement. This analysis is combined with market-leading expertise in online rights protection to provide tailored technology services enabling companies to take targeted action and monitor the impact. Incopro works with a network of law firms globally to provide expert legal advice.
Helen joined the team on 29 July and will be providing support on product design and enhancement, business development and sales.
Prior to joining Wiggin, Helen worked for a number of years at the BPI (the trade body representing the UK recorded music industry) as head of internet investigations. Most recently, she worked for a cyber-threat intelligence start-up, building and developing their analytical and investigative capability.
Helen’s appointment is in addition to that of Ted Shapiro, formerly head of legal at the MPA, at the start of the year. Ted, partner in Wiggin’s IP/rights protection group, runs Wiggin’s Brussels office and is also a director of Incopro.
Helen comments: “Incopro is a new and exciting business, offering rights owners something innovative and of real value – an in-depth understanding of the online infringement landscape together with the tools to decide upon and measure action. I am really looking forward to developing Incopro’s offering further and to introducing Incopro’s services to companies across a number of sectors.”
Simon Baggs, partner at Wiggin, head of the firm’s IP/rights protection practice and founder and director of Incopro, commented: “As Incopro grows it is important that we work with the best people in the industry, and that’s why we’ve appointed Helen. She has a wealth of experience in analysing and tackling cyber-crime and intellectual property issues. We are confident that this experience will provide Incopro clients with a real competitive edge.
“There has been an excellent response to Incopro since its launch with many substantial content owners and trade associations making use of the service. Helen’s appointment will further enhance the service we are able to provide to clients and ensure the continued strong growth of the business.”
